MICHIGAN FASHION WEEK 2020
This past weekend, I attended Michigan Fashion Week 2020. Michigan Fashion Week was founded by Loren Hicks, Crain’s Detroit 20 in their 20s award recipient. Hicks is redefining fashion by hosting a showcase of emerging and established designers to celebrate the growing industry of fashion and design talent in Michigan.

Highlighting Michigan’s talent in the fields of design, photography, art, and modeling, this was undeniably the biggest fashion event in the state of Michigan.
As with fashion designers, fashion bloggers, fashion influencers, fashion stylists, and students, I too was excited to attend MFW. I participated during day 3 and day 4 of the production of events, workshops and social gatherings that were scheduled.
Day 3 – Friday, February 28, 2020
The Ultimate Beauty Event with celebrity makeup artist Marv Dixon was very informative and inclusive; as Marv Dixon gave awesome tips and even personally helped me perfect my makeup skills. The event was held at Nordstrom, Twelve Oaks Mall, which was the perfect location to shop samples.

The Michigan Fashion Week International Showcase & Expo was the main event held at Masonic Temple, in Detroit. I attended the Couture show, highlighting designers that specialize in cultural international couture wear.
The designers included represented countries from all over the world. Michigan Fashion Week strives to bring the community together and they did exactly that!
