TRAVEL DIARY: PRE-MOTHERS DAY RETREAT AT GRAND TRAVERSE RESORT
PRE-MOTHERS DAY RETREAT
AT GRAND TRAVERSE RESORT
Every mom needs a getaway every once and again, and with it being the month for Mothers why not take a getaway trip to a 4 star resort. I had never been to Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, but the stories I heard of the immaculate service and scenery was let's say just a portion of what all they truly offer to their guest.
On this trip, I was accompanied by a group of mothers wanting to relax and enjoy a getaway trip just as much as I did. The trip was organized by event planner, LaTonya Spearmen of Eloquets Enterprise. Of course my mother, Peyton and I only saw fitting we celebrate Mother's day with these amazing ladies.
I know what you're thinking, why take your baby on a spa getaway? Well, being a mother to me means creating memories with my children, because they grow up so fast and before you know it they're off doing their own thing. Also, I was raised this way, my mother took me everywhere. I was always traveling with her and those moments are my greatest memories spent with her. I only saw fitting I celebrate Mother's Day with the ladies who matter most to me, my mom and PeyPey!
Day one of our trip began with a photo shoot of course. I used this time to show off Peyton's T-shirts from her first clothing collection, Little Miss by Peyton Marie. Launching next month btw!! For updates check out She Inspired Clothing. I also used these photos to announce my pregnancy!! Yes, baby number 2 is on the way!!! Another reason why this Mother's Day means so much to me! I love being a mom and although this pregnancy wasn't planned, my family is overjoyed to be gaining a new addition.

Road trips with the McNeal clan always include a stop at the nearest outlet or super mall. On this trip we stopped at Birch Run Premium Outlets for some pre-retail therapy, knowing we were in for more once we arrived at our destination. The one thing I wasn't expecting was to spend over 300$ before reaching the resort, but as you can see Peyton Marie had no problem spending mommy's money.
Once we arrived at the beautiful Grand Traverse Resort, I was blown away at how large the resort was. I was welcomed by cute shops and restaurants, tennis courts, large pools and an amzing spa. I was very pleased with the cleanness and professional service.
We enjoyed the pool, candy shop, toy store, spa, fitness classes, and delicious foods, only a portion of what all the resort offers.
We also visited a local shopping area on Front Street, where we found unique shops like Cherry Republic. This place had to be one of my favorites. With their forest cathedral decor and product displays, they showcased hundreds of their cherry-based products including chocolate-covered cherries, BBQ sauce, jams, jellies, salsas, nut mixes, ice cream toppings, baked goods, condiments, summer sausage, soda pop, and cherry wine. The wine, along with many other products were displayed for customers to taste. That was probably the other ladies favorite part. Who doesn't love wine tasting? Of course 3 months pregnant, I had more fun tasting all the cherry flavored foods.
One of my favorites was the "Original Cherry Salsa"!! It was absolutely delicious with a sweet zesty taste, I was hooked. I even went back for a second purchase and while I shopped Peyton played in their kid friendly play area, a perfect distraction for your kids while you shop, taste snacks and sip wine!
Did I say the food was great? Well I don't know if it's the pregnancy or if everything was just that dang good lol.
My favorite meal had to be on our last day at the resort, at Aerie Restaurant & Lounge. With panoramic views of Grand Traverse Bay and vibrant display, the brunch buffet was exquisite. What a great way to end our trip!
Below check out how me & Pey rocked out matching outfits this weekend!
