LET'S BE REAL: MONDAY MOTIVATION
ME, ME, ME, A NEW SELF CARE HACK!
You’re overwhelmed with work, school or both. You have a list of "To Do's" that can never seem to end. So, with your busy schedule, you skip lunch, tell yourself you don't have time to go to the gym and those night out with friends become late nights of you falling asleep on a pile of work. When we’re over worked or stressed, self care is usually the first thing to go. It’s so easy for us to take the phrase “hard work pays off” too far, but let's be real, over working ourselves takes a toll on us mentally and physically.
Let's be real, it’s easy to neglect taking care of ourselves because when we’re busy and overwhelmed, we tend to forget the main character is needed for a successful story. When I look back on these past couple months, I feel like I stretched myself entirely too thin, taking on new clients, new projects, running numerous businesses, trying to attend every event, stay on top of my health and the big one being a great mommy, I can honestly say taking time for myself hasn't been number one on my list. Time passes by so quickly, I worked so hard and I accomplished so much. I celebrated, I explored, I grew, and I did a lot of things I told myself that I would. With pushing all of my limits came consequences. Feeling tired was an everyday thing. I also had two major health scares that included my 3 battle with neck and back pain and heart complications. It was so scary, it was definitely a wakeup call to learn to prioritize.
I had to learn the hard way, the importance of taking care of myself. It's not always going to the spa or getting your hair and nails done. Sometimes it's just relaxing at home, ending your night early if you know you have an early morning, being realistic about your goals and schedule, or the big one, cutting ties with toxic people in order to surround yourself in positivity. Don't wait to last minute when were completely drained.
